Swipe for the before of the same corner! Our garden kitchen in Wolseley needed a lot of work to connect to the owner’s beautiful yard. We designed the new kitchen to enjoy the dappled morning light filtering through the tree canopy.
While the windows and garden doors were challenging, it was even more involved to open a load-bearing brick wall to add a breakfast nook to the kitchen. (See our recent post for a view of that cozy nook). The brick wall was almost 18” thick and we added trim to fit with the character of this 100 year old home.
We added a coffered ceiling to coordinate with the one in the dining room and balanced all these historic details with modern accents like @studiodavidpompa pendant lights and Risom chairs.
