Swipe for the before and process pic of this kitchen nook in our Wolseley project (Note the same stair railing in each shot.) Is it a lot of work to take down a load-bearing brick wall? Definitely. But it totally transforms how the kitchen is used by all members of the family, and guests too. We kept the south window which creates a sunny spot (even in winter) to connect with each other, or find a quiet space alone. We chose to preserve the formal dining room and not make the house open-concept, because this nook provides a more intimate place to have a casual meal or savour a coffee directly adjacent to where the cooking happens. We added mouldings and classic British wallpaper by @williammorriscollection and contrasted those traditional design choices with modern Jens Risom chairs, a midcentury-inspired custom booth in the softest green velvet, and modern art by @amyshackletonart to remind the homeowners of their hometown of Toronto. #designbuild #kitchengoals #shelfie #interiors123 #mywinnipeg #torontoartist #amyshackleton #exploremanitoba #tourismwinnipeg #winnipegrealtor #wpgnow #gowpg #midcenturymodern #beforeandafterinteriors #jungalowstyle #winnipegartist #archdaily #williammorriswallpaper #characterhome #wolseleywinnipeg
