We designed one very hard-working wall. The biggest problem with this condo was that there’s nowhere for coats and boots. Swipe for the before and you’ll see that the entrance (door on the left) just opens up into the kitchen. This new wall conceals a fridge, pantry, microwave and small appliances, and on the back side of it we have created a proper entrance hallway that has coat closets, a storage bench, and leads to the mechanical/laundry room so it’s not visible from the main space like it was before. (Kind of unsightly). The wall is also essential because it contains a plumbing stack that runs through the building (which cannot be moved), and whole lot of ductwork, plumbing, and electrical. Huge challenge to make it all work and kudos to our team of sub-trades and our PM @matthewsaloalloneword and of course our design team who are inspired by (rather than overwhelmed by) the technical complications that come with extensive condo renovations.
